The northern pike is a predatory fish found all over the northern hemisphere.

Northern pikes are ruthless predators and they will try to eat almost anything that moves in the water, including each other. They strike suddenly and swiftly, so some respect is appropriate when being around pikes.
People who go fishing often catch and eat northern pike as it is quite common and it will bite many kinds of bait that moves.
One must be careful handling a live northern pike as it has sharp teeth and can easily give a careless angler a nasty bite.
