The red-headed rock agama is a species of lizard from sub-Saharan Africa.
The female red-headed agama has a brownish-tan color while the male has bright coloration.
Red-headed agamas can be kept as pets, but they are probably not suitable for beginner reptile keepers. Red-headed agamas need significantly more space than other lizards of the same size.
Like most lizards, red-headed agamas will eat plant matter such as flowers and leaves, but their main source of diet is insects.
