Lacewings are delicate looking flying insects in the order Neuroptera.
A green lacewing is somewhat similar to the adult insect form of an antlion but of a smaller and more delicately built.
Both larval and adult lacewings like to eat aphids and other small insects and mites. With their voracious appetite lacewings can be employed as biological pest control.
