The red-tailed black cockatoo is a large cockatoo from Australia.

I took these pictures in the Toronto Zoo inside the Australasia pavilion. In the wild red-tailed black cockatoos mainly eat seeds in the wild. Red-tailed black cockatoos are numerous but habitat destruction can threaten them.
Red-tailed black cockatoos are sometimes kept as pets, but they can be pricey (several thousands of dollars) in North America.
