Tubifex small annelid worms that are most commonly known as a type of live fish food.
They do look like miniature earth worms but they don’t live in the soil but in disgusting watery sludge where they eat bacteria.
Since they live in sewage they can carry disease to aquarium fish, thus some people prefer to use tubifex worms that were cultured specifically for that purpose.
