Bakony is a mountain range in the Transdanubia region of Hungary.

Bakony is the mountain range around the city of Veszprém which was mentioned earlier on this blog.
A large portion of the mountain is kept as a sort of wilderness (of course nothing in Europe is devoid of human civilization) and it is a home for all sorts of wildlife.
Several species of game such as deer, mufflon and wild boar are hunted regularly in the mountains of Bakony.
