Fire belly toads are small frogs belonging to several species in the genus Bombina.
Fire belly toads are semi-aquatic frogs. They used to be quite common in Europe, but I haven’t seen many in recent years. These pictures were taken of captive speciments in pet stores and in a zoo.
Firebelly toads can be kept as pets, and in North America they seem to be popular, probably due to their small size, attractive coloration, low maintenance, and the fact that they are active during the day.
