The Fungia coral, also known as plate coral, or sometimes mushroom coral is a large polyp stony coral often kept in reef aquariums.

Some people find it easy to keep Fungia corals, in fact they quire often reproduce in home reef tanks providing hobbiist with a supply of captive propagated specimens. Personally I have never managed to keep one alive for long, I don’t really know why.
