The Brazilian salmon pink bird-eating tarantula is one of the largest spiders in the world.
As its name implies the salmon pink bird-eater does eat larger prey, even birds. Salmon pink bird-eating tarantulas are often kept as pets.
Salmon pink bird eaters readily reproduce in captivity, and they grow fast, they have an impressive size and menacing fangs, yet they tolerate being handled. These tarantulas also tend to sit in the open, not hide in their enclosure which makes it easier to show off one’s pet spider to one’s fellow spider enthusiasts.
