The American green tree frog is a species of tree frog native to the South-eastern United States.
Like its cousin, the European tree frog, the American tree frog is a small, very active and jumpy frog that lives up in the trees. The American tree frog is an insectivore that will try to eat and chase the most active prey.
American green tree frogs are often kept as inexpensive and relatively undemanding pets. They do tend to be jumpy so care must be exercised not to let the animal escape as they surely would dry out and die inside a house.
American tree frogs can be kept in a decorative habitat with live plants and they will eat small insects, including crickets.
