The patas moneky, also known as the hussar monkey because of its mustache, is an old world monkey from Africa.
Patas monkeys are mainly ground dwelling and only occasionally live in woodlands. Their main habitat is on steppes, even in deserts. As such patas monkeys cannot afford to be picky about what they eat and they are omnivorous eating small animals, fungi, various plant parts, basically anything that they can use for sustenance.
Patas monkeys live in large groups and they have a complicated social structure that changes between the times during and outside mating season.
