The Plumed basilisk is a beautiful medium sized lizard from South America.
Plumed basilisks are omnivorous and they eat fruits and flowers as well as various animals they can overpower.
Like many of its relatives the plumed basilisk can walk, or at least run, on water as a result it is one of the basilisks know as the Jesus Christ Lizard.
Because of its nice coloration and the coolness factor some people like to keep a Plumed basilisk as a pet although it is not very popular in spite of its stunning beauty and omnivorous habits that should make it easy to keep your pet basilisk fed. Perhaps their ability to inflict rather serious bites is a deterrent.
