As I have mentioned in an earlier post, the brown bear in Eurasia is the same species of bear what is known as the grizzly bear in North America.
To show how a brown bear looks like I took a picture of one living in the Budapest Zoo.
The brown bear in the picture is a Syrian brown bear which is somewhat smaller than other subspecies of brown bear, nevertheless it is still a formidable animal.
The brown bear below is of a more massively built subspecies, the Kamchatka brown bear, and it lives in the Veszprém Zoo. Unfortunately its enclosure did not let me get a picture from an unobstructed view.
