The red-bellied short-necked turtle is a beautiful river turtle.
Red-bellied short-necked turtles originate in the wild live in Australia and Papua New Guinea. Wild caught specimens cannot be exported from Australia, but there are captive bred red-bellied short-necked turtles available in the pet trade. The red-bellied short-necked turtle is a beautiful species of aquatic turtle which requires a diet fairly common for a predatory aquatic turtle and plenty of swimming are as well as basking and UVB lights, and it can be maintained in captivity if its needs are met.
Please do consider the needs of the adult animal, especially its requirements for swimming space if you are considering keeping red-bellied short-necked turtles as pets.
