The reticulated python is a large constrictor snake from South-East Asia. Reticulated pythons are the longest snakes in the world.
A fully grown reticulated python is large enough to swallow a young or not too heavily build person whole. Which makes one wonder why some people keep reticulated pythons as pets, even breed them in captivity. On the other hand, apparently if you can avoid being strangled and eaten by your pet reticulated python, they do tolerate captivity well, and make good pets for people who can cater to their needs. There are even fancy morphs available in the pet trade with the most delightful color variations and patterns.
