The skunk cleaner shrimps are probably one of the best known types of shrimp that one can keep in a reef aquarium.
One skunk cleaner shrimp is even featured in the cartoon Finding Nemo as Jacques. Cleaner shrimps are really cleaners — they eat parasites off other animals (mainly fish) in the sea. This kind of relationship between a cleaner and its client is known as cleaning symbiosis.
Skunk cleaner shrimps are quite often kept in home reef aquariums as they are beautiful to look at and they do not usually destroy other desirable reef inhabitants.
