The park features various various buildings from previous centuries still in good shape and daily use as well as some more modern ones.

Vajdahunyad Castle (Vajdahunyadvár). This castle was built to resemble medieval castles, but it is not in fact a historical castle. The Vajdahunyad Castle was built just for show for the 1000 year anniversary of Hungary in 1896.

There is even an ice skating rink.

City Park Ice Rink.

City Park Ice Rink (Városligeti Műjégpálya) located between the Vajdahunyad Castle and Heroes’ Square.

At the opposite end of the park (from Heroes’ Square and the Budapest Zoo) there is a hall suitable for hosting various events.

Recycled Petőfi Hall Sign.

Petőfi Hall (Petőfi Csarnok) with its old sign recycled (the other side had a hand written sign advertising a flee market held in the hall’s front yard).
