I took this picture in the Toronto Zoo in the African Rainforest exhibit, where the Meller’s chameleon is kept next to its cousin the veiled chameleon<\/a>. Most of the general chameleon-related factoids described there apply to the Meller’s chameleon as well.<\/p>\n

Meller’s chameleons are carnivorous and they will eat insects and small animals that they can overpower.<\/p>\n

Meller’s chameleons in the wild are vulnerable to habitat destruction and changes in their environment.<\/p>\n

Some people like to keep a Meller’s chameleon as a pet.<\/p>\n
