Duncanopsammia axifuga<\/em> is a large polyp stony coral that comes from the waters around Australia. Duncanopsammia axifuga<\/em> from my reef tank.<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n Duncan corals do need strong light since they are photosynthetic but not nearly as strong a light as small polyped stony corals. They also need to eat some plankton on a regular basis. Otherwise they can be hardy and beautiful aquarium inhabitants.<\/p>\n Unfortunately the specimen shown in the picture has died during a long power blackout<\/a>.<\/p>\n
