Red-bellied short-necked turtles originate in the wild live in Australia and Papua New Guinea. Wild caught specimens cannot be exported from Australia, but there are captive bred red-bellied short-necked turtles available in the pet trade. The red-bellied short-necked turtle is a beautiful species of aquatic turtle which requires a diet fairly common for a predatory aquatic turtle and plenty of swimming are as well as basking and UVB lights, and it can be maintained in captivity if its needs are met.<\/p>\n

Please do consider the needs of the adult animal, especially its requirements for swimming space if you are considering keeping red-bellied short-necked turtles as pets.<\/p>\n
