This year (2017) the fires ravaging through Northern California did a significant damage to the wine industry there, so the price of California wine may be higher in years to come.<\/p>\n<a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Wine-merchants-sign.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Wine-merchants-sign.jpg\" alt=\"Wine Merchants Sign\" width=\"1200\" height=\"630\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2951\" srcset=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Wine-merchants-sign.jpg 1200w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Wine-merchants-sign-300x158.jpg 300w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Wine-merchants-sign-768x403.jpg 768w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Wine-merchants-sign-1024x538.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/a>\n<p>The farming industry is so important that there are all sorts of rules and regulations about bringing food into California from other countries and even other US states.<\/p>\n<a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/palm-and-pine.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/palm-and-pine.jpg\" alt=\"Palm and pine\" width=\"800\" height=\"475\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2975\" srcset=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/palm-and-pine.jpg 800w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/palm-and-pine-300x178.jpg 300w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/palm-and-pine-768x456.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a>\n<p>Rules are actually enforced. Even in the Nevada-California border there is some &#8220;strawberry police&#8221;, and you can pay hefty fines, or even be thrown in jail for trying to smuggle strawberries into California. Just to give some idea, more people live in the State of California than in the entire country of <a href=\"\/places\/canada\/\" title=\"Canada\">Canada<\/a>.
