The Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden is the oldest zoo in Hungary. It was first opened to the public in 1866. As a really old zoo its arrangement is somewhat different from the “more modern” zoos I visit regularly.<\/p>\n<\/a>\n For example some exhibits are arranged by similarities between the animals displayed not by geographical origin as it seems to be more common in newer zoos. There is an elephant house, and e.g. gorillas and orangutans are displayed next to each other.<\/p>\n<\/a>\n Argentine Horned Frog<\/a> The Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden is the oldest zoo in Hungary.
